I usually have no patience for openers (and even less for encores…) but really enjoyed hearing Vandaveer open for Ben Sollee last night. Harmonious murder-balladeers with just a touch of mountain music. 

Incidental props to frontman Mark Charles Heidinger for pronouncing “Appalachian” correctly. (That’s “a-puh-LATCH-uhn.”) Music to my ears.
